The 2023 Taipei International Food Expo grandly opened on June 14th. The exhibition gathered 1,498 exhibitors from 31 countries, utilizing 4,118 booths. Both the number of exhibitors and booths have grown, benefiting from the anticipation of border openings. This year's Taipei International Food Expo is expected to set a new record in terms of visitor attendance.

The event continues to invite exhibitors from all around the world to showcase their unique food products. Among them, the most eye-catching is the "Eswatini Pavilion." The Eswatini Pavilion features nine Eswatini companies exhibiting products such as sugar, honey, lychee-flavored gin, and the award-winning Black Mamba chili sauce, which received the British Great Taste Award.

To fully display the uniqueness of Eswatini, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) arranged a special opening ceremony with performances by Eswatini students showcasing traditional Eswatini dances, which received great applause from the audience. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Eswatini to Taiwan, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Overseas Community Affairs Council, Taiwan Africa Business Association, Africa Taiwan Economic Forum, and Taiwan Africa Industrial Development Association, who all joined the event.

In his speech, TAITRA's Executive Vice President, Chiu Hui-li, stated that the participation of Eswatini businesses added uniqueness to the food expo. The country's natural resources make its agricultural products highly competitive in the international market. Taiwanese companies participating in this exhibition have the opportunity to fully experience the charm of Eswatini's natural foods.

As an important diplomatic partner of Taiwan for over 50 years, Eswatini has firmly supported Taiwan. TAITRA's mission is to promote bilateral trade, and to celebrate the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
